The Institute of Green Growth Solutions (IGGS) is looking for a qualified and highly
experienced individual to fill the position of a Director.


Job Brief - Director
The Director makes strategic and operational decisions for the company and is responsible for
ensuring that the company achieves its goals and objectives.


Responsibilities of the Director includes:

  • Lead in conjunction with the Board, the development of the Organisation’s strategy
  • Resource Mobilization including sourcing of funds.
  • Lead and oversee the implementation of the organisation’s long and short-term plans in accordance with its strategy.
  • Ensure that expenditures of the organisation are within the authorised annual budget.
  • Assess the principal risks of the organisation and to ensure that these risks are being monitored and managed.
  • Ensure effective internal controls and management information systems are in place.
  • Ensure that the organisation has appropriate systems to enable it to conduct its activities both lawfully and ethically.
  • Act as a liaison between management and the board
  • Communicate effectively with shareholders, employees, Government to keep abreast of all material undertakings and activities of the organisation.
  • Supervises team leads and staff of various departments in the company.

Qualifications

  • Must possess master’s degree in environmental science, natural resource management, environmental engineering, climate change, sustainability, energy, or any other relevant fields and must be a member of a professional body.
  • Minimum of 5 years ‘or more experience in an environmental and sustainability field.
  • Directs and implements an organization’s research and development policies, objectives, and initiatives.
  • Ensures research and development activities will maintain an organization’s competitive position and profitability.
  • Guide the team of researchers to work more efficiently and more productively.
  • First-rate personal and communications skills profound willingness to collaborate internally and externally.
  • Should have operated at a senior leadership level and must not only have an environmental and sustainability background, but business acumen.
  • Strong managerial and leadership skills
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative research skills
